Our typical day includes providing needed preventative care services, surgical services, and urgent care services to pets and animals in need, and supporting their loving pet owners. After-hours emergencies are referred to a local emergency clinic. Our staff members can expect a 4 ½ to 5 ½ day work week and no holiday clinical hours in a non-corporate practice environment. We truly operate with team-based management rather than control-based management principles, respecting the work of each associate from the front of the office to direct care staff, as well as the work of our practice owners—this is what makes independent practice work appealing to many veterinary professionals. We serve a diverse suburban population of dedicated client families and a wonderful community of foster/rescue organizations in a hospital caring primarily for dogs and cats. Any team member at HVC can look forward to a practice environment which supports veterinary family practice, preventative medicine (a pioneering program started in 2001, which has been continually innovated over the last 20years), integrative medicine (i.e. regenerative stem-cell therapy, acupuncture and cold-laser therapy), some orthopedic and more advanced surgical techniques, soft tissue surgery, shelter/rescue medicine (forensics), small mammal care, and team-based management today--while looking forward to expanding his or her particular career interests and integrating them into our practice tomorrow.
